Omawumi

OMAWUMI, born to Late Dr F. Megbele and Mrs Q. Aya Megbele on the 13th of April, a fine year back then, had her primary and secondary school education in Warri and moved on to study law in Ambrose Alli University, Edo State. In 2005, after she graduated, Omawumi moved to Port-Harcourt,
Rivers State where she worked in O.S Megbele and Associates while studing French at Alliance Francaise.


In 2007, OMAWUMI auditioned for Idols West Africa and 6 months later, after dazzling her audience with captivating perfomance, became the 1st Runner-Up, Idols West Africa. Since then she has numerous performances on the stage with top local acts like D’Banj, 2face, P-Square and International acts like Chaka Demus and Pliers to her belt, and hit theme songs for corporations like Malta Guinness and MTN plus her new hit single ‘In The Music’.

Omawumi Megbele was 1st Runner up In West African Idols 2007. She Won Best Female Vocal Performance and Next Rated Artist at 2009 Hip Hop World Awards. She is one of the Hottest Young Sistahs in the Scenery….Breathing FIRE! You can be assured that indeed, Omawumi is here to stay!
