GospelOnDeBeatz

GospelOnDeBeatz, known to his parents as Gospel Obi, is one of Nigeria’s most prolific producers. Born in the eastern part of Nigeria, Gospel started playing the drums at the age of 7 and the keyboard at the age of 9.
Having discovered purpose early, his love for playing the keyboard and beat making grew as he played and performed in his parent’s church as well as different concerts around his community. Gospel’s studio production skill and passion first gained expression at the age of 17 when he produced a ten-track gospel choir album for his parent’s church.

In late 2006, Gospel began his music career full time, working as an in-house music producer/sound engineer at ET-quake multimedia Nig. Ltd. under the tutelage of the legendary Tee Y-Mix. In his own words, Gospel says, ' I was born for such a time as this.'

If you listen to music, you’ll definitely agree. He’s responsible for Davido’s "All of you", Iyanya’s "Jombolo" ft. Flavour, “Ekaette" ft. Tekno, "Somebody" ft. Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy’s"Celebrate" and Tiwa Savage’s "Ileke" and many more..

Other acts he’s produced are Praiz, J. martins, Ajebutter 22, Skales, Rayce, Tekno, Morell, Dammy Krane, Saeon, Y.Q, JJC (skills), L.O.S, Flowssick, Shank, Njideka, Lindsey, Samsong and B.O.U.Q.Q.I, amongst others.

Gospel definitely has passion, but he’s also honed his skills by top-notch certification. He holds diplomas in Electronic Music Production, School of Audio Engineering (SAE) Dubai and a Diploma in Audio Engineering from the Audio Institute of America (AIA).

Consequently, his versatility hasn’t relegated him to mainstream music as he’s created the signature montage sounds for both News hour and Kakaki on Africa Independent Television (AIT). Always hungry for new frontiers and challenges, GospelOnDeBeatz names his mentors as Tee- y Mix, Kelvin Bond, Quincy Jones, Cobhams, Timberland, David Guetta and Don Jazzy.

Gospel is friendly, purpose driven and a fan of excellence. He is known to be patient on the job and one who shows commitment in all he does. And like he says, 'I can learn from anyone'.
